School's ALIVE!
A number of our Year 5 and Year 6 pupils took part in 'Schools Alive' on Thursday 12thFebruary at the Grand Theatre.
This was an exciting opportunity for more than 1600 pupils to perform on the Grand’s
main stage.
A brilliant evening’s entertainment for both students and audience alike.
E-Safety
Our Junior children have now all received training on their ASUS machine, following our class launches this month.
All children are now using them well in class!
With this use at home and school it is important
to discuss "E-Safety" with your child.
Please look at the DVD you received from school called "Know It All".
Also you may wish to click on the link below for further information from Kent NGFL.
An "E-Safety" assembly was held in school on 10th February 2009.
Look out for further information that your child will receive, following this assembly.
BARRIERS IN MATHEMATICS
Thankyou to all parents who attended the AGM meeting and took part in the Barrier to Mathematics session led by Mrs Smith.
Following the considerable feedback, Mrs Smith is now exploring the potential to hold "Parenting Workshops" in Mathematics.
In the meantime perhaps have a look at this website whichspeaks of a new government initiative called "Every Child Counts"

Our whole school enjoyed Sports Days on separate days in July. Once again we were blessed with good weather.

Lots of parents came to watch and support us - Thankyou!
FIRST HOLY COMMUNION
On Saturday 10th May 2008, many of our Year 3 pupils celebrated their First Holy Communion at St Bernadette's Church. This was a wonderful day for the children and their families.
Year 3 invite parents to their assembly in the school hall on Tuesday 24th June at 9am.
Click on Year 3 to see the photographs of the day.
Parents have an 'irreplaceable and inalienable' role in education because of the uniqueness of the loving relationship between parents and children. The family is the seat of love and it is only through knowing that we are loved, and that we are lovable, that we can fully become the person God intends us to be.
SCIENCE WEEK
As part of our Science Week children enjoyed a visit from Cardinal Allen's Mr Harding and members of the Science Department on 18th June.
Take a look at the exciting things the children enjoyed.

Owen and Reception class made rockets. They had a competition to see how far they could travel. I wonder who won?

Robert and Year 4 tried to make their hair stand on end!How did they manage that?
Christy and Kieran used viewfinders to explore slides. What do you think they explored?
Why not ask them the next time you see them!
Year 5 and Year 6 enjoyed a visit from Alan Bennett.
He has been into school before to talk to Year 6 about his exploration of Costa Rica.
On Friday 20th June we had the opportunity to hold organisms from his own pond. These included leeches - thankfully not the blood sucking kind!
