Year 3 and 4 Quad Kids Competition.
Girls and boys from year 3 and 4 participated in a challenging athletics competition with Mr.McShane at Stanley Park.  The games consisted of a 50m sprint, howler javelin throw, standing long jump and the crowd pleasing 400m sprint.  Several local schools took part, with many budding athletes of a high calibre.
The children at St.Bernadette's performed to a high standard, winning several events and put all of their energy and spirit into the competition.  All of the children should be very proud of their sporting performances, everybody achieved personal bests and now have the athletic bug.
You may be watching some of these children in the future Olympics . . .so watch this space!

Remember to wear something tangerine on Friday 18th May for own-clothes day!

Mrs. Tansey gave Year 6 children the opportunity to enter the Blackpool Palatine Rotary Club’s School Essay Competition 2012 last term.   With the Olympics in mind, the title of the essay was, “I had an Olympic Dream.”

Mrs. Angela Butcher, a representative of Blackpool Palatine Rotary Club, presented the children whose work was entered into the competition with certificates during the Merit Assembly on Friday 27th April 2012.  Courtney Thompson received a special mention as she was a joint runner-up, receiving a Silver Award, taking away a Gift Voucher for £20 to spend at WH Smiths.

Well done to all the children!
